During our Apple training, we went around and gave teachers administrative rights to their laptops. This means that now when something comes up that requires authentication, you can supply your user name and your password and you should be able to do what is needed. Sometimes the authentication window pops up with your “long name” and you will need to change that to your “short name” (user name) before supplying your password. Of course if you are having trouble with this, please bring your laptop by so we can check things out. Also on some pages where you may want to change things you will notice a padlock on the lower left corner. To make changes you need to click the actual icon of the lock, not the words that say “to make changes…” (Don’t ask me how many times I have had to learn this…).
